What Is A Spark Plug?

Spark Plug is one of the performance parts of a car. It is an electronic device found in the engine. This device is of great importance in an internal combustion engine. The main use of the plug is to ignite the air-fuel combination since it fits at the cylinder head of the engine. An internal combustion engine is one, which gets its power by means of explosion of gases inside a combustion chamber.
A genuine car usually has a four-stroke petrol engine. This means that with every rotation the performance parts in the engine have four strokes or movements.  In every cylinder is a piston that shifts up and down in the interior of the cylinder. This is to squeeze the gas for ignition and to thrust the exhaust gas out after burning. The air-fuel mixture ignites using an electric spark.
Features of a spark plug
Some of the constituents of a plug include:
  • Insulated central electrode
  • Heavily insulated wires
  • Grounded terminal on the base
  • A spark gap inside it
ASpark Plug works in a very simple manner. It transmits energy in form of electricity, which changes petroleum into operational power. For it to do this, the spark plug requires enough quantities of electrical energy that cause it to jump across the spark gap to create an electrical performance. The power is provide by the ignition system.
To make this process efficient, the temperature at the spark plug's firing point should be low enough to prevent pre-ignition and high enough to hinder fouling. This device is multi-purpose. It can also work in other applications for example furnaces. The application must be one that requires a combustible mixture to ignite.
Thermal performance is the name of the process. The heat range of the spark plug usually controls it.  A Spark Plug removes heat but does not generate it. We can lay the comparison of a spark plug to a heat exchanger. This is because it takes thermal energy away from the ignition chamber and takes it to the cooling system in the engine.
The range of heat in the spark plug is its ability to dispel heat. A spark plug is a very important performance part in any engine. It will surely ensure the heat cycle is very complete in an engine thus making it very efficient. The carmaker usually chooses the right spark plug for each car.

How To Install Boost Controller In Your Car?

A boost controller is a device that controls the level of boost from intake manifold of a turbocharged engine. The device controls the boost by having an impact on the air pressure taken to pneumatic mechanical actuator. A boost controller is available in both manual and electronic. The manual one is sometimes part of computerized engine in a turbocharged car and provides easy fabrication.
Before installing manual boost controller, it is important to add a high flowing exhaust and an air intake or air filter. This gives the car ability to breath and at the same time allowing the turbo to spool easier. It is important to look for an aftermarket air filter or boost gauge because other types of boost gauges are not accurate. If you do not install an aftermarket boost gauge the car's engine might be at risk of over boosting.
The function of westegate actuator is to determine the levels of your stock boost. Boost controller interrupts the pressure line that is running to westegate actuator. Therefore, you can increase boost over stock levels.
How to install boost controller in your car
  • Look for a westegate actuator to attach on the turbo.  This device has vacuum line port that connects boost source. The boost source can be either turbo's compressor housing or intake manifold or intercooler pipes.
  • Install manual boost controller at the vacuum line. Some vacuum line have T fitting between the boost and westegate actuator, therefore they have separate vacuum lines running to boost control solenoid. It is good to remove the line that runs to the solenoid if you have T fitting.
  • Drill a small hole on boost controller barb that connects westegate actuator. It is important to leave the hole open and do not switch Westgate barb and boost barb.
  • Most boost controllers are almost 3 feet of vacuum line and therefore you can divide it into two pieces of any lengths. Use the first piece to connect boost controller barb and boost source. The other piece uses it to connect westegate controller barb and westegate vacuum port.
  • Sliding the vacuum lines into the barbs can be difficult but you can use oil to lubricate the barbs.
  • Use vacuum cups to block any open boost sources and use cable ties to protect vacuum line connections.
It is important to use premium fuel for your turbo car after installing boost controller. Test the car after installing manual boost controller. The boost is either increased or decreased when you turn the knob clockwise or anticlockwise.  Gently press the gas as you watch the boost gauge rising.  Your car has a maximum safe boost that depends on cars upgrades and features of fuel system.  Find out the maximum boost level your car can run.

Know Of The Top 10 Cars?

10. 2010 Audi S4
When the car was first introduced in 2004, it made the list for the Top Ten, too. If we fast forward six long years, the new S4 with OE Audi Center Caps has lost a couple of cylinders compared to when it was first released, but it packs a silky, 333-hp supercharged V-6.
9. BMW 3 - Series
There are clearly faster cars than the BMW 3 - Series, but this car in particular has earned itself a long list of comparison-test victories (and let me tell you, it's a long list). It's now a 19th-consecutive 10Best appearance because of the instant confidence it imparts to the driver.
8. 2010 Cadillac CTS
I don't have to tell you that the Cadillac CTS Center Caps aren't hard to look at. What I can tell you is that the car has a great looking interior with such a luxury feel and it's more spacious compared to it's competitors that are in the same market. When you look at the exterior, you can immediately tell that mixes uniform shapes with sharp angles that borrow from nobody.
7. 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid
This car is actually the most advanced car that's on the list. The powertrain on the hybrid is so refined and compact that it's almost not there. The Ford Sync System that's installed gives drivers Sirius Travel Link, featuring weather, sports, traffic info, even movie times.
6. 2010 Honda Accord
We all know what the Accord & the Honda Accord Hubcaps are the most common things in this world, but did you know that it's been on the list 24 times? The thing that sets the Accord apart is its platform - it's as solid as solid can get.
5. 2010 Honda Fit
This is the car that anyone can use: it's fun to drive and cheap to maintain; AND, you can buy it at a cheap price. The cool thing is that everything about this Honda will make it feel more expensive than it really is: it zips through corners and does all that other stuff fancy cars do.
4. 2010 Mazda MX-5 Miata
What's cool about this car is that it has feline reflexes, crisp shifting, and surgically precise steering .. which are things that make a car a treat to drive on a winding back road. The other amazing thing is that the price makes the car available to pretty much anyone - which is amazing news for me.
3. 2010 Mazda 3
This generation of the car has better material quality, ride quality, chassis control, and Mazda 3 Hubcaps on it. Once you get behind the wheel and you take it for your very first test drive, you're reminded that there is a fun-to-drive car for every economic stratum.
2. 2010 Porsche Boxster
There are so many great things to say about the car, so I'm only going to name a few considering I don't want to bore you. When you experience every spin of the steering wheel, every push of that amazing gas pedal, every fat blat from the flat-six engines, they're all calibrated to deliver one thing: unparalleled automotive pleasure all for you.
1. 2010 Volkswagen GTI
Even though the car has gotten bigger and more powerful compared to when it first came out, it still has the same spirit - which is the main reason why it's on the list. Not to mention the Volkswagen Wheel Covers don't look too bad on it.
